Scott Wood, 53, Randolph County Ambulance District, died in the line of duty of COVID-19. His love for volunteer firefighting began at age 15 and led to a 35-year volunteer firefighting, first responder, and Paramedic career of over 30 years. Eventually rising to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief, he was the Monroe County First Responders Coordinator, and certified in dive rescue. Scott’s love for the outdoors was especially evident in his passion for hunting. Helping others was the foundation of everything he did and as an organ donor, Scott’s incredible gift immediately saved three lives. A man of faith, he loved his wife, Rebecca, daughters, Rachel and Alicia, his grandson, his parents, brother and sister, and the countless friends and co-workers that he considered family.
