Frank Duff, Jr, 66, Columbus Fire Department, died in the line-of-duty of COVID-19. A 26-year Fire Department veteran, Frank served most of his extraordinary career at Station 17/Rescue 17 on the city’s West Side with additional assignments at Station 2 and 10. Before following his passion to become a Firefighter and Paramedic, he worked as a mechanic alongside his father at Duff’s Auto Care. A beloved coworker and mentor, he was described as “the perfect firefighter” throughout his career. Remembered for his servant’s heart, he was known for always having a quiet, calm, patient, reserved, and kind demeanor. He treated everyone like family and loved helping his co-workers, especially with cars. He loved hiking, biking, and traveling and frequently visited the Great Smokey Mountains. Frank was a father, stepfather, and devoted man of faith.
