Fort Barnwell Rescue Squad
Joseph “Joe” Grady II, 38, Fort Barnwell Rescue Squad, died in the line of duty of a medical event while responding to a call. Joe served through multiple EMS agencies and was actively pursuing his paramedic licensure. An educator at heart, he considered being a paramedic his dream career and pushed his fellow students, never letting them give up - “you changed my life and I hope you know it,” said a classmate. Joe’s legacy will continue through his fellow students that committed to complete paramedic school in his honor: “We’re doing it for Joe!” Known for his famous fist bump, he is described as humble, charismatic, and everyone’s comic relief. A man of many hobbies, Joe especially enjoyed time at the gun range, loved Arizona ice-tea and smoker grills, and wanted to open his own business and name it “Joker’s South.” His deep faith led him to a passion for ministry and a life of service. Joe most loved spending time with his wife Shaquim and his family. He loved his mother, Susan, grandmother Molly, his brothers and sisters and will forever be a part of the men and women with whom he served.
