Cottage Hose Company Ambulance
Edward “Ned” Hayes, 71, Cottage Hose Company Ambulance Corporation, died in the line of duty of a medical emergency. Ned began as a volunteer EMT and ultimately served his community doing what he loved as paramedic for 35 years. A great partner and mentor, known for his excellent skills, strong sense of professionalism, and humor, he “always entered a room with a bright sunshine smile.” “Pa,” as he was called by his five grandchildren, loved to deer hunt, play golf, and host family gatherings where he would cook his famous crab legs and “cooked to order” juicy steaks. The 4th of July was a special event where his spectacular fireworks display took center stage. Ned, a true family man, recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife Donna. A wonderful father to Kimberly, Kerry, and Edward Ryan, he cherished his grandchildren, loved his sister, and was faithfully followed by his dear companions, his dogs Matilda and Grace.
