Troy M. Dettinger, 58, Union Fire and Hose Company #1, died in the line of duty as a result of a medical event. A respected leader and mentor who was always available to help, Troy was dedicated and passionate about serving his community throughout his 29-year fire department career. He was a well-known and vital member of the fire department community. Described as a fantastic friend, he could always make you laugh and “Could fix just about anything.” As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, 4-wheeling, fishing, and hunting. But as a father and grandfather, spending time with family was most important to Troy.
