Troy Potter, 43, EMT-I, Brunswick County EMS, died in the line of duty of COVID-19. Serving in EMS for more than 25 years with various agencies, Troy held numerous positions, ultimately earning the rank of Captain. Known to his co-workers as “T-Roy” or “T-Pot,” he loved EMS, made a name for himself through his actions, served humbly, and positively impacted many lives. Remembered as unique and funny, Troy was kind, compassionate, generous, and a good friend who was loved by many. Troy loved going to his original home and being on the family farm. He enjoyed life and especially working on heavy farm equipment and vehicles with his dad. Troy’s fiancé Cierra was the love of his life along with his daughter, Adelynn Lou and future stepson, Hunter. He loved his sister Corrie, and his mother and grandmother whom he missed dearly.
