Robert “Don” Parrish, 70, Pilcher’s Ambulance Service, died in the line of duty of a medical event. Don’s exemplary service began with his 20-year career as a Firefighter/Paramedic with Dothan Fire Department. After retirement, he dedicated an additional 30 years to EMS at Pilcher’s, and recently reached the milestone of 20 years of National EMS Certification. Pilcher Ambulance Service 2021 EMT of the year, and affectionately known as “Ole Bud,” he was described as an awesome paramedic “doing exactly what he loved”. Remembered as a “gem,” he was loving, kind, dependable, dedicated, compassionate, and faithful in his service. He loved to support the Ashford High School marching band, was past president of the Band Association, and loved Auburn Football. A Man of faith and family, Don loved his wife of 30 years, Pam, daughter Kimberly, stepdaughter Jennie, grandchildren, Rachel, Kaylee, and Jaidyn, and very special grand dog, Beau.
