North Huntingdon EMS and Rescue
Fred Manno, 64, North Huntingdon EMS & Rescue, died in the line-of-duty of a medical event. As a 40-year EMS veteran, he dedicated his life and career to serving others. A charismatic leader, he was described as a passionate, kind-hearted, and gifted clinician. As one patient’s mother recounts: “Fred was so calming and comforting on that agonizing ride to the children’s hospital. I will never forget him.” Undoubtedly making an indelible impression on the hearts of those he touched throughout his life and career, Fred was an inspiration and one of a kind, with a sense of humor like no other. A great conversationalist and listener, he was a true friend and a joy to be around. “How could you not love Fred?” He enjoyed a good cigar, was a devout fan of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, enjoyed shooting at the range, was a connoisseur of hot sauce, and never missed an opportunity to post pictures of his extraordinary breakfast plates. He made the most of every day and enjoyed life with his family and friends. Fred had an affinity for dogs, especially his most loved companion, Lady.
