Gordon Baker, Sr., 62, Harris County Emergency Services District 48, died in the line-of-duty of COVID-19. After a successful career utilizing his degree in electronics from Texas A&M, he chose to focus on service to his community and provided emergency medical care for nearly 30 years. He is remembered for his unmatched clinical skill and for treating every patient and coworker as family with sincere compassion. Tremendously kind and caring, Gordon acted with true love and understanding. A selfless and hardworking professional who loved his co-workers, he gave of himself generously and was known as a mentor to new EMTs and Paramedics. Gordon’s influence and friendship will serve as a guide for his co-workers in caring for the community. He shared his love and passion for music and playing the piano, especially Beethoven and Bach, and his special talent for painting. He enjoyed working in the yard, spending time with puppies, decorating the Christmas tree, and a good thunderstorm. Gordon cherished God, his family, and his country and will be remembered as a remarkable humanitarian and loving soul.
