Central EMS
Gina Ayres, 57, Central EMS, died in the line-of-duty in an ambulance accident. A 12-year EMS veteran, she also served her community as a firefighter, was a dedicated school volunteer, spent time with patients at nursing homes, and served those less fortunate and in need. Known as caring and compassionate, she loved fiercely and her selfless service to others had no bounds. Remembered for her quick wit, beaming smile, fun, and stronger-than-life personality, Gina’s love for baking and peanuts brought joy to those who served with her. Alongside her husband, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office’s Deputy Sheriff Tony Skindzier, Gina raised two incredible daughters, Corinne and Abigail.
